Welcome to WKU! There are over 8,000 parking spaces on campus, yet, parking availability can be limited, particularly when classes are in session. Most parking lots require a WKU parking permit. However, public parking is available at the parking meters, at the South Diddle Public Parking Lot on Avenue of Champions, and in the Kentucky Museum visitor parking lot.
We recommend making Parking and Transportation Services office your first stop when you come to campus for the first time. Our customer service representatives will be happy to assist you in planning your visit and can direct you to the best places to park while you’re here.

In general, a WKU parking permit is required to park on the Bowling Green main and south campuses, Monday through Friday.
Permit eligibility is determined by employment status for faculty/staff, and residency status for students. The type of permit issued determines where you can park.
Only purchase WKU parking permits from Parking and Transportation Services. Ownership of permits is not transferable. A permit purchased from an outside source may have been lost, stolen or forged.
To purchase your permit online:
- Have your vehicle information handy. This includes license plate number and the make, model, year, and color of the vehicle.
- Log into your online parking account using your WKU e-mail log in.
- Select "Purchase a Parking Permit" from the menu.

The term "Intersession Parking" refers to parking on campus any time other than when Fall & Spring semesters are in progress, (in session). PTS relaxes the parking rules during intersession so that all "Commuter" & "Housing" zones become "All Permit" zones in which all current WKU permits are honored.
Student parking zones are the only areas affected. Faculty/Staff areas, gated lots, meters and reserved spaces continue to be enforced as usual. Exceptions to these rules occur when it is necessary to accomodate a special event on campus. In such case, please refer to our website for current information.
